A Little About Lynn, founder/ interior design consultant…

Hi! I am Lynn Asbury, the owner of Lynteriors. I am married to Steve, a software entrepreneur. He is my go-to guy for IT help. Lol. Also, I am the mom of 2 wonderful sons and a beautiful daughter.

My passion is to help homeowners like you turn their dream homes into reality. I love the creativity in making your home unique to your needs and desires and beautiful as well. And I enjoy working with a range of styles for my clients, all with a fresh, clean aesthetic. Whether it’s refining layouts, curating the perfect colour palette, or sourcing those unique pieces that reflect your story, I’m here to bring your dream to life.

Lyn Asbury most professionally gave us excellent advice re our kitchen renovation. It was a difficult assignment as we requested direction for selecting countertop and sink etc. to work well with the existing backsplash and ceramic floor tiles. She was very quick to guide us into selecting quartz and returned again with samples from which to choose. Her artistic eye for colour and suitable combinations as well as knowledge of product available is superior. We most certainly recommend her highly to design and plan your next renovation.

Why I Chose Interior Decorating

In 2004, my family and I bought our second home in Aurora, Ontario, while my three children were still young. I remember I was so excited as I entered the house. The foyer and some rooms looked grandiose, intimidating, and imposing. When I walked into the great room, I noticed it had room for two seating areas. The room was lovely and large. As a result, I wondered about the size of furniture I should purchase for the room. I realized that if I chose the wrong furniture, the scale of the furnishings could be too small. As a result, the furniture would look lost in the room.

I envisioned creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in my home, where every room feels comfortable and welcoming. My passion for decorating sparked a desire to master the art more effectively. After relocating to our new house, I took a bold step and transitioned my career from nursing to interior decorating. This decision was driven by my commitment to overcoming design challenges and achieving the welcoming ambiance I craved.

But my journey didn’t stop there. I also felt a calling to help other homeowners realize their decorating dreams. While immersed in my interior decorating program, I fully committed to this mission. Now, I love using my interior decorating skills to create spaces that reflect each homeowner’s individuality and I would love to do that for you too! I make it a priority to understand the way you use your space and what style and colour scheme you want to see in it.

As a fun aside, as a child, I loved to play with my Barbies, but I also loved to decorate and redecorate PJ’s (Barbie’s friend) rooms. I found decorating PJ’s rooms was more fun than dressing PJ! I now love to help others achieve their dream rooms and homes.

Why I Also Chose Home Staging!

About halfway through my interior decorating program at Seneca College, I wanted to apply what I learned. One of my friends introduced me to a home stager who I worked for as an assistant home stager. I also honed my skills in using furniture and accessories to create appealing rooms through this experience.

So, I am also passionate about helping sellers stage their homes. I am the owner of Home on Stage as well. It is the home staging branch of the company.

What I Do As an Interior Designer

I have experience with lighting design projects,  kitchen design projects, project managing, and window treatments projects, picking appropriate furniture sizes for rooms, room renovations, and redecorating projectvisions to name a few. Click the “Project” button below to find out more.

Lynteriors will help  you even if it is a small project such as a small lighting project. Here is an example. As Megan, one of my customers, explained, “We bought a new house that had a number of light fixtures that that we did not like and were not to our taste. Lynn came and did a consultation and helped us  choose something that fitted the space and our style better. There is so much choice out there that it was hard to see the wood for the trees! Lynn has a keen eye and a good sense of style!

I love to collaborate closely with customers such as Megan. I also love to help by doing all the project design and project management for those who prefer that level of service.

On My Days Off:

As these photos above show, I love traveling, hiking, and gardening too. After a busy workday, you can find me in my garden. Another interest I have is traveling with my husband Steve. I would love to help you incorporate your garden views and travel mementos into your interior design. Yes, the view of a garden out of your window can also be a part of the room design! I would love to help you create your dream space! Contact me at 416-721-6217 or asburylynn@gmail.com to book a free discovery call.
