For example, my Oak Ridges client wanted to purchase a sectional for their family room. They were empty nesters. So they wanted the largest sectional they could get to entertain friends. They also wanted to have it for family gatherings. They picked a smaller sectional and larger one.
The wife wanted it to fit within the column. She knew she would not like it if it did not fit. She also wanted the biggest one she could get to entertain more people. She did not want to buy the smaller sectional, if the bigger one would fit.
I did the perspective below. The drawing revealed that the smaller sectional barely fit between the column. As a result, the larger sectional would not fit at all.
Since she knew this, it gave her the confidence to buy the smaller sectional. She also knew it would look better. Furthermore, she realized she would have had to put the larger sectional in the basement, and buy another one for the family room. She was thankful that I did the drawing because it gave her peace of mind. I saved her money and frustration.

Interior decorators have access to discounts on furniture and accessories. These are called to- the- trade discounts. They are partially there so decorators are compensated for their time and expertise. I pass some of the discounts to my clients too.
